Gir Cow

Another breed of cow the dairy farmers are interested in for the milk production is gir cow. The reddish brown colored cow of breed Gir, also referred as Gujarati, Surati and Desan, is popular cattle that can tolerate to stress conditions. With curved horns and folded ears, this cow is easy to identify. Indian-born cow breed can resist tropical diseases. In a day, the Gir cow can produce six to ten litres of milk. The lifespan of this cow breed is around twelve to fifteen years.
